And we begin with a nine-year-old student from Harlem becoming the youngest poet laureate

in New York.

Caden Herne stole the show at the inauguration ceremony early this month for the state's

governor, Kathy Hocal.

The grade schooler performed a piece he wrote titled, In My Mind, Among the Lines.

In my mind, I thought it was fine to sit in the back of the classroom because my teacher

never asked me to read or write, but little did she know I was ever so bright.

Caden told WPIX that his grandmother provided some initial inspiration for his talent,

saying she told him to write his thoughts down.

Caden isn't done, he says his next poem is for the president.

Breaking into a school will normally get you into a lot of trouble, but one man who did

that to shelter more than 20 people during a severe blizzard in Buffalo last month is

being rewarded instead.

J. Whitey went out in the storm to rescue a friend whose car got stuck in the snow on

Christmas Eve, but quickly became stranded himself.

When he discovered a school nearby, he smashed a window, opened the front doors, and trekked

back to bring 24 other snow-bound motorists inside to stay warm and dry.

Mr. Whitey told CNN it was just a matter of survival and doing the right thing.

As a reward for his heroic act, Mr. Whitey has received two tickets to next month's Super

Bowl in Arizona, which were personally delivered to the mechanic by legendary former Bill's

running back, Thurmond Thomas.
