Summary

World of Dreamcast

It's a special podcast this week, and not only because it's very long (and what you have here is still the result of quite a bit of editing). In Episode Lucky 13 we talk about Sega's Dreamcast, the system that became Sega's last hope as a hardware manufacturer, ultimately sending them reeling into the world of third-party publishing for competing hardware platforms. Join us as we talk about the highs, the lows and everything in between. After listening to this segment you may want to check out these links:

Chu Chu Rocket commercial - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tiA7mCzQqu0

Also on this week's show, we discuss what we've been playing -- World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade (PC), Wario Ware: Smooth Moves (Wii), Lost Planet (Xbox 360), Heavy Weapon (360), Phoenix Wright: Justice for All (DS), Samurai Warriors 2 (Xbox 360) and oh so much more. Actually that might be it, I'm not sure and it's past my bedtime.

Blink and you could miss it, but this week we also discuss Kyle Orland's analysis of EGM's Quartermann rumors as seen on GameDaily.

For our final segment in this week's show, we go over some of the feedback we've received in the last week -- keep it coming. And that's it for this week! And our other regular guest host, joining us from Florida is Dan Dave Dormer. How's it going, guys? Ooh. Hey. How's everybody been doing this week? Sue Poibe. Good. Good. Superoib. Other than I'm sick again, damn it. Yeah, well, you're the guy with the nasally voice and the good microphone. That's right. Yeah, there you go. So, very good. What does, let's launch right into what you've been playing, and we'll start with CJ. Well, one of the things I've been playing this week is Heavy Weapon, Xbox Live Arcade. Ah. Yeah, it's a little pop cap game, little side-scrolling shooter where you're in a tank,

and it's a very moon patrol-ish, kind of want to, except there's no jumping in it.

1:17.0

You kind of want to shoot everything above you.

1:20.7

Into the side.

1:21.7

I don't know how much you played.

1:23.2

Yeah, there's jeeps that come by with missiles, and they fire at you, and you have to destroy them, too.

1:28.4

So I've gotten a couple achievements on that, played it over Xbox Live.

1:31.9

Good stuff?

1:32.5

A fun little game.

1:33.8

Maybe not worth $10.

1:35.7

It might have been better at $5,000, because there's really not much to it, but it is a really fun game.

1:43.8

Live arcade games are creeping up.

1:45.9

I find, like, in general, the prices seem to be going higher.

1:48.6

Yeah.

1:49.1

It seems like, like, 800 is pretty much the norm now.

1:52.4

Mm-hmm.

1:52.9

At least for original games.
