2020 and we begin with the Marshall Arts Champion grabbing headlines for her

bold moves off the mat. Four years ago 18 year old Kimia Elizabeth took

bronze in Taekwondo at the 2016 Summer Games, the first female to win an Olympic medal in Iran.

Now she's making news again,

this time for her decision to defect or disown allegiance to her country.

In making the announcement,

Elizabeth, Eliziday pointed to Iran's poor treatment of its

people, especially women. Rumor has it that the 21-year-old has settled in the Netherlands

and that she may compete for that country in this year's Olympic Games.

Elizabeth says she has no other wish except for Taekwondo, security, and a happy and healthy life. Over in Great Britain, it appears that a royal defection is all but assured.

After meeting with her family yesterday, Queen Elizabeth announced her support for Harry and Megan to become part-time monarchs.

Details are few, but one thing is clear, Meg's it, as it's being called, will not drag out like Brexit. Any lingering questions about the couple's finances or

obligations are expected to be worked out in the next few days. Some interesting

footnotes, although Megan was expected to take part in the call, she reportedly did not because the

Royals feared eavesdroppers. And in the Queen's statement, she notably referred to the couple

by name only and did not use their official titles.

A 130 year old giant tortoise named Diego is getting credit this morning for almost single-handedly saving his entire species.

He lived in the San Diego Zoo for 30 years before being sent back to the Galapagos Islands

on what could be called Mission Impossible,

breed his Chelanoidus, Hudensus, back from the brink of extinction.

Diego was apparently happy to oblige, and helped raise the tortoise population there from 15 to 2,000.
