Today we're talking about Rhode Island and the Model 3 Headliner.

Tesla stock on Wednesday closed up 0.33% to $334.80 cents,

as compared to the NASDAQ down 0.14.

Supercharger network update, we are still at 1,136 supercharging locations.

Some good news today for Tesla in Rhode Island.

Previously, Tesla had not been allowed to sell directly to consumers in Rhode Island, which is the case in many states.

But now in Rhode Island the government has officially given Tesla the permission to open their first store in the state.

Rhode Island's local news station W.P. R.I. reported on this and they had a quote from

Governor Gina R. R. Mondo. She said, quote, I would like Tesla to be able to sell here.

It would be a great thing if they could be purchased in Rhode Island so that we get the

sales tax revenue, frankly, and also for our customers, end quote.

Interestingly, there's no legal changes required to Rhode Island's legislation

to grant Tesla with this opportunity. The way the legislation is worded currently only prevents

companies that already have a franchise dealership network from opening their own direct-to-consumer stores.

Previously, it was unclear whether or not Tesla would be included in that legislation or not,

and the government has now clarified that they would not

which would allow Tesla to open direct to consumer stores. Even though

Rhode Island is a smaller state I think every victory like this that Tesla gets

will benefit them in future battles with other states.
