Welcome back to another episode of Surf Splendor.

I'm your host, David Scales.

And today we're bringing you another bonus episode discussing, as you probably have already read,

the Quicksilver Pro France.

Our previous contest recap show was the Hurley Pro and obviously it was hosted with or co-hosted

with Scott Bass of Down the Line Surf Talk Radio.

Scott is actually hosting his boardroom show this weekend here in Orange

County, California. So the timing of the end of the Quick Pro, unfortunately, conflicted with his

schedule. The Quicksilver Pro event, though, was so interesting and it was marred with controversy,

and so I still really wanted to discuss the event.

And thankfully, I found a great alternative co-host in Chad Wells. Maybe you've heard Chad's

name in the news recently. He worked with Quicksilver for a number of years and managed the surf team.

Worked with Kelly, worked with Dane and a lot of the other guys that are on tour. And he even worked in the commentary booth during events.

So considering the controversy surrounding the Quick Pro, I thought Chad would be able to provide

some unique insight and perspective into the event.

Secondly, about doing these event recap style shows, I really feel like it would be redundant

and boring to just recap the results of each and every heat.
