So I know we're in the, we're nine days away to football for Michigan.

We're two weeks from tonight, the start of the NFL season.

Like I get where football is right around the corner, but we do sneak back into some baseball talk here and there. Of course, tigers get another win. They get to sweep. Nice series sweep over the Houston Astros, which was, I mean, if you're going to take care of business, I mean, that's team that's coming. It's one thing to take care of business against, say, the White Sox, which they've struggled to do or some of the other lowly teams, the Orioles, which they have done a little bit.

No, taking care of business at home against the Astros, having won 10 of their last 13 games,

now once again having the largest division lead in baseball.

It's a nice place to be.

The team is baseball.

They've gone through their ups and downs.

The ebbs and flows will probably have a couple more before the end of the season. And that's okay because it's baseball. And yesterday's game was really fun except for the fact that after 23 innings or maybe into the 23rd inning, I can't remember what the actual number was. The Tigers actually finally gave up a couple of runs to the Astros. They finally. And Astro fans are like, finally!

They scored!

But old man Morton, man, what a... Way to go, Unk. So he now was a 363 ERA, three out of four outings since he's been to Detroit. He's been quality starts. His 363 ERA is here. And I just kind of go laughing back. I had mentioned the overnight guy yesterday when he had said

looking at the oh, you got a five-subb-E-R-A and blah, blah, blah, blah. So they're going to give a bunch of runs. You got to play the over. I'm pretty sure he lost all his tiger bets yesterday. And I was, and our point was you can't just look at Charlie Morton and go, oh, at the time he was what, eight and eleven or eight and ten, whatever's, you know, and then his five plus ERA, you can't just look at Charlie Morton and go, oh, at the time he was, what, 8 and 11 or 8 and 10,

whatever, and then his 5 plus ERA, you can't just look at that and go, that's what you're

getting. You have to remember that he was traded a few games ago from Detroit to Detroit, and

how is he pitching now? And he actually, even if you go back to before he came from Baltimore, his last handful of starts in Baltimore were better too. He just, one, A, wasn't getting a bunch of run support. And B, had some atrocious outings earlier in the year. And it's very easy to have a ballooned ERA if you have bad outings. And the thing is, he has one bad outing in Detroit. He has three pretty darn good out, three quality starts and three pretty darn good outings. And if you can get that from him, where three out of every four starts from him is a quality outing, that's probably more than the fans were expecting. You hope it's better than that. You hope he gives you more quality starts than, but that's better than the, I mean, we talked about him purely as an innings eater

purely just more injuries to the pitching staff they need a guy that can come in and give

you five six innings every five or six days they've just got to find another guy to do it
