Joined by the coach who before the season, we were talking about, you know, what the outlook was and what they needed to do.

And he said at the time, when we get to the second weekend, when, not if we get to the second

weekend. And then he went on to talk about the things that they need to do. Well, here they are

in the second weekend. Michigan assistant basketball coach Mike Boynton joins. This is Mike. Good morning. How are you? Good morning. Good morning, fellas. I'm doing well. Obviously, feel good that we are continuing to play. I'm not a profit at all. But there's some things you kind of have a feel for once you've been in this business long enough. And way back in the summer, I thought this team had a chance to be pretty special.

Yeah, man.

And, you know, but here's the thing, Mike.

Few guys in your profession are willing to say that publicly.

I mean, I'm sure a lot of coaches like, man, we got a special group.

Wow, we're going to go a long way.

But they are reluctant to, you know, put that in the atmosphere.

You weren't.

I mean, that says a lot about your confidence in this team, but I don't want to speak for you.

Just what did you, how, when did you know, how did you know enough to be able to say, yeah, when we do this, like you did this.

Well, there's a lot of times that you have the requisite talent, right, necessary to do this.

But you're always in the back of your mind as a coach.

You're skeptical that you'll be able to keep it together long enough and that the

egos of your individuals will override the mission of your team. And the unselfishness that these

guys work with and committed to each other to play with was evident from early on.
