within the Indiana winning the championship topic and got a bit, got it away from me at the time.

But I and I were talking in the break, you know, the unprecedented rise to power for

Indiana. What does that do? We're talking about the impact on college football. How does that

impact Indiana?

A basketball school forever, forever.

Well, anecdotally, Sam, here's the anecdotal.

So there usually are more Indiana fans at Chrysler for basketball than there were last night.

That's the first part.

Second of all, the few Indiana fans that I saw that were not in the parent family

section, the other Indiana fans, most of them were wearing Signetti shirts.

So there is that part of it.

Honestly, what it does, I'm speaking from the outside looking in.

And I don't really know because I'm not there.

But what it feels like is it makes, it gives DeVries this ramp. We talk about how when Michigan was going to hire football coach, they had to take off like a rocket ship and there was no ramp to take, right, immediate you had to jump in and have immediate success. Obviously, Indiana basketball is not doing that under DeVries right now. It's a very slow burn to try to get going. And I think it buys them time. Because I don't think people care. I mean, they care, but they don't care, right? Like, it's Indiana basketball on January 21st is an afterthought. Generally, they would wake up today and they would be going, I can't believe our basketball team. They looked awful last night and this, that and the other.

And I'm going to guess that most conversations are not about basketball today, if any.

Like, you know, at some point that it'll transition, then they'll have the conversations about how dreadful their season is going and that kind of stuff.

But the glee of the fan base will buy you time.

Yeah.

I suppose that, you know, the long dormant Indiana football fan.
