We said Sam was out in Mount Pleasant and yeah, he's struggling with his connection out there. But that's all right. We are joined by our friend Wendy Welsh from the Humane Society of Irma Valley. And Wendy joins us for the top dog of the week. Wendy, good morning. How are you? Hey, I'm great. How about you? I'm doing really well. It's great to talk to you once again here on the show. And let's jump right into it. Sam always leads off by asking is this week a love train week? It is not. That would be next week. It was last week, too, correct? Because I think I was away. Yeah, I was away. So that's good. It was last week. All right, that's what I thought the answer was going to be.

So it's coming back next week.

I kind of knew the answer. I'm like, I think I was away during the love train. All right. So that's good stuff, Wendy. Appreciate you joining us, as always. Love train next week. So let's get into it. Who is our top dog of the week?

Oh, Ira, it's Nelly.

And Nellie is about a four-year-old dog, and she is about 54 pounds.

She's nearly all white all over, except she's got a bit of pan around one of her ears. And the picture on her website, you'll see she's smiling. She's a sweetheart. She is a bit of a reserve dog, though. So you might think of her as shy at first, but she's just a little nervous about things. And then once you get her going, she's a sweet, sweet dog. We've introduced her to our humane ed folks, all of the youth that are in the room. She's really interested in people. She's interested in treats up to a the room, and she's really interested in people.

She's interested in treats up to a certain point, but she's more interested in people.

And she kind of ignores other dogs, which is really funny.

Yeah, and that's Nellie.

One thing about Nellie is she really loves bologna and spray cheese. So, hey, that's her thing.

year. So did you wrap up? Was this the last week of Camp Purge for the summer? Is that what I see?

Oh my goodness. Yes, yes. Camp is wrapping up and we're starting some other things.

Like in a couple weeks, however, we will be doing rescue reading. So right before school starts,

or right in between for some people. It's Saturday, August 23rd rescue reading. One of my favorite

programs, Ira, because it shows like immediate results for both the kids and the animals.
