We live in a world of secrets, secrets that we hide from our husbands and wives,

from our children, from our parents, from ourselves.

Most of them are little things, harmless and hardly important, even in the moment

in which they are conceived. But some secrets are so horrific, so powerful, that no matter how deep we try to bury them,

how cleverly we try to hide them, they claw their way to the surface inch by inch until they are exposed to the light.

Because the worst secrets yearned for the light.

They want to be found,

and they always come back to haunt us.

Joe LeBlanc wanted to make his apartment as quiet as possible.

He was tired of living in fear. He was tired of the nightmares, tired of the questions.

He wanted an answer no matter how much it scared him.

He unplugged all of his appliances, he turned off the air conditioner and the refrigerator, and finally

he turned off the lights.
