And so it was a busy day yesterday for Scott Harris.

The activity that I was looking for.

There was lots of it.

Now, no big names.

He had a quote. He said something like the splashy moves

aren't necessarily the most successful moves.

That's not an exact quote, but that was long and long. The splashy moves aren't always the best moves. What is the basic message there? Sam, yeah, the long quote is pretty, here I'll read you the long quote real quick. It's pretty good, the long quote that I had pulled. A lot of the moves we passed on felt like they could haunt us for years. We believe we have one of the best, if not the best farm systems in baseball. That means we've got really good players coming. Players who will be fan favorites play at Camarica Park for years and help us win a lot of games. Some of them are going to get here this year. We felt that at this point in our organizational timeline, giving up young players to chase short-termterm fixes was not in the best interest of the Tigers short or long-term.

Right.

And he said, you know, splashy moves aren't always the best moves.

You know, and given, like, the deal that I mentioned between the A's and the Padres,

you know, the A's paid, or the Padres paid a stiff price for Mason Miller,

stiff price.

They're number one, their number three prospect,

and then two more prospects inside the top 30 in their organization.

And I don't think the Tigers traded any prospect inside their top 20,

if I'm not mistaken, inside their top 20 if I'm not mistaken.

Inside their top 25.

And you talk about the flashiest moves

generate the most headlines.

They're not always the most effective moves.
