And we're back here on the Michigan Insider on the Big 1050 WTCA online at the big 1050.com.

So I really thought it was going to be, you know, like let's talk a lot of basketball day.

0:13.7

But man, at what point last night, I guess it was right around the time the women's game ended?

0:19.3

I got home because I was dropping Gracie's buddies off at their houses on our way home.

0:23.1

We finally get home.

0:24.6

And I did not expect my Twitter feed to be taken over by the Tigers.

0:29.7

But that's exactly what happened.

0:31.6

Now, I will say as an Orioles fan, I was pretty upset because the Orioles got treated by Framber Valdez the same way the Tigers got treated

0:38.1

last year by Alex Breggman. Because you remember last year, Alex Breggman had a deal from the tigers in front of him and then he never signed it. He was waiting for a better deal and he eventually got one from the Red Sox. And he even signed one with an out after one year, which I believe is what Framber signed. so the Orioles had a deal in front of Framber

and they thought they were going to get him

and he was waiting for a better deal, and he got a better deal. The Tigers are signing Framber Valdez to a three-year, $15 million deal. He's a 32-year-old left-handed pitcher. He's going to be paid about $38.3 million per season, which is the highest annual average salary for any left-handed pitcher in MLB history. Now, seems kind of ridiculous because you have the best left-handed pitcher in baseball on your roster and you submitted a $19 million arbitration number for him and he asked for $32. Maybe you know you're going to lose the arbitration thing and his number is going to be that high. So you're just, I don't know.

1:46.4

I'm really not sure. The deal does reunite Valdez with Tigers manager, AJ Hinch, who managed, obviously, they were together with the Astros for a couple of seasons. Valdez's first two years in Houston, AJ was there. I was stunned. I'm sure a lot of people were stunned. but I was double stunned because I thought the Orioles are getting him. And I thought it was going to be that final piece because they obviously got the bat in Alonzo. And they were going to go get the arm as they've been boosting the team. No, they got, I don't say they got played by Framber, but he held out. And he held out for a better deal and he got one from Detroit. his deal at 38.3 million per season

2:04.6

and at $ one from Detroit. His deal at 38.3 million per season and at 150 million total is a heck of a lot cheaper

2:07.7

than what Terrick Schuble is going to get in his next big deal, right?

2:11.9

In his arbitration deal, it's going to be 30, how he doesn't win arbitration.

2:16.2

I don't.

2:17.5

The hearing was yesterday. My guess is that maybe they're based on the hearing, they knew this was going to happen, and we should get the result of the hearing today. And my guess is he's going to be making 32. They should award him like 40. I know we put him for 32. They should just stick into the tigers and say, you're being super cheap. So what I don't know When I started to ask people, I haven't gotten a lot of answers yet

2:37.4

And I'm sure a lot of other people are trying to get these same questions answered. What does this actually mean for Terrick Scoobel? Because I know Scoobel did say, you see his, he posted on social media, dinner's on you to Framber. It's funny because one guy is going to be making between $19 to $32 million.

2:54.4

The other guy's making $30.

2:55.5

Like, they're both, they could probably afford their pay.

2:57.7

Right now.

2:59.0

They can afford to go Dutch and pay for their own, I guess, no matter how expensive
