I'm your host Brian Wallace and in today's show we're going to get away from the normal format in favor of talking a little bit about the earth-shattering news that's going on in the PA recertification plan. So here at Physician Assistant Exam Review, I believe that consistent positive action can yield great results in any area of your life.
0:35.2	And I've taken that principle and I'm applying it to my and your exam review.
0:39.2	I'm covering a short piece of information each week in an effort to keep all of us from having to
0:43.9	cram for our pan-rate. But in today's episode, like I said, I wanted to get away from
0:48.8	this a little bit. Due to the news that has recently come out, the NCCPA has officially released that they're going to move the panry and the recertification program from a six-year cycle to a 10-year cycle.
1:03.7	Now initially this will have a lot of people really excited.
1:06.2	I know there are a lot of PAs out there who hate the idea that we have to
1:09.6	restart every six years.
1:11.2	They think that this is cruel and unusual punishment and just can't believe
1:14.6	that this is something that we have to do so very frequently. So I think the 10-year cycle will
1:19.2	initially make a lot of people very happy.
1:25.0	And just to give you some perspective, the recertification program has been in place since 1981,
1:28.0	and this is obviously the biggest change that's come along in that time,
1:31.0	so it's been over 30 years and so this is just huge news.
1:38.0	So there are a couple of different things I want to make sure I cover with you today.
1:40.8	I want to make sure that you understand a lot of these changes or at least
1:43.1	what information we have right now. So I want to go through with you the time tables
1:48.6	for when this is going to take effect and a little bit about the changes in the
1:51.8	CMEs and what you're going to have to do there. Some of it gets a little bit about the changes in the CMEs and what you're going to have to do there.
1:53.7	Some of it gets a little bit confusing, but hopefully we'll go through that today and you won't
1:58.1	have any problem with it.
2:01.2	So the biggest complaints, at least initially I think are going to be coming from you and me.
