I love me a buccaneer or two, I do. There are many pirates I want to discuss

from Bessie's Anne Bonny and Mary Reid to Chinchie to even that demon of the sea himself,

Blackbeard. But I thought I'd start with one a little closer to home, with the Irish pirate queen, Gronia Wheel.

Where to start? I mean, well, the beginning was probably like a good place, although I would like to apologize in advance for any mincep-

All right, already, for any mispronunciations and bittery of names.

I'm doing my best.

And I'm going to partially blame the accent, because that might work.

So, Granion Emilia was born around 1530, and to put this into perspective, and gave you wee bit of a timeline,

Henry VIII was still married to Cathene of Aragon, but was currently chasing after Anne Boleyn.

Ah! Oh, and he had the title of King of England and Lord of Ireland.

Because, of course, he did.

Although generally, England only really dealt with the pale,

which was sort of a portion of Dublin.

They didn't really care too much or go too far into the rest of the country.

But, you know, context.
