Let's talk to Michigan

recruiting fellas. Defense of line. Listen, Steve, you know, the secret sauce, the secret to Michigan's

success. I mean, you can point to a number of things. They had great quarterback play from

J.J. McCarthy. Smash a number of things. They had great quarterback play from J.J. McCarthy.

Smash with the offensive line.

They had elite defensive backplay.

I mean, so many, they had great coaching.

All of those things can be true.

And yet, if I wanted to pick out the ingredient, to me, the biggest factor in putting them over the top, in my opinion,

elite defensive line play, Steve Lorenz, is the separator, in my opinion.

If you can't block them, you can't stop them.

And these teams, when you think about Alabama, you think about Ohio State, you think about

those times when Michigan, Washington, in the national championship game, what was the thing that separated Michigan in those elite moments?

To me, it was elite defensive line play, Steve Lorenz.

And that is why I think in this cycle, Michigan hitting home run, home runs in defensive line

recruiting is going to be one of the key things to look out for on the recruiting trail.

Yeah, I mean, I think for Michigan, I mean, the worst case scenario they've had, I think over the last four or five years, is having either like a top four or five edge group or a top four or five interior group, good enough to give that other side or other group or part of the defensive line, multiple opportunities, right?

elite play at both positions. So yeah, I mean, and not only up at the top, but they like,
