So the question of Jalen Dern, it becomes top of mind now that the NBA season is over for the Pistons.

So he's a restrictive free agent that gives the Pistons to write,

the right to match whatever offer sheet is offered by an interested team.

I let him test the mark because listen, I think there were some designs on at least

he bet on himself.

There was extension talk last off season and he decided not to sign it

and bet on himself in the regular season that looked like a really really good move now that you

hit the postseason you wonder what the posture is going to be. Is that still going to be his and his

agent's approach in dealing with the Pistons? Or if the Pistons offer him short of the max,

you know, can, if the offer short of the max, can you say, hey, you know what?

I want to be with this team.

I've grown with this team.

I can, we can get to another level.

This is where I want to be.

Can that be a reality in the Jalen during a situation? If it can't be, then we're talking to sign and

trade. Here's how it would work. Because in the NBA, all the restrictive free agency allows

you to do is to match the contract. It's not like you get a couple first round picks if he signs elsewhere.

If a team is interested in signing him, then you tell that, hey, listen, we'll match it unless we get some deal going.

You work out a deal where you get something in return for JD.
