1:08.0 | No, man, it's an absolute honor and a pleasure having you here. A little backstory for the guests. Clark and I graduated Buds together and we're obviously tight teammates back then. |
1:21.0 | We've always been good friends but just have lost contact over the last number of years. So I haven't talked to Clark in quite a while. |
1:32.0 | And so half of this podcast is chronologically delving into his story which is a I wouldn't say it's common but it's for sure a type of story that's you know in occurrence that happens with a fair bit of regularity for guys like us that when they get out. |
1:54.0 | You know they continue to serve in a host of different capacities whether it's with contracting groups whether it's with police departments or a mix of the two like in this case. |
2:03.0 | And to me, you know, because that's such a recurring theme that that happens, you know, I want to let you guys in on it and kind of you know see what what happens with a lot of these guys. |
2:15.0 | You know no different than me and that you know when you when you have a skill set that's very very particular and very specific not to sound like the fucking movie taken. |
2:25.0 | Specific set of skills. |
2:28.0 | The fact is there's not a lot of transferable jobs out there or careers that's like yeah we need people that you know can go be fucking violent at the drop of a hat you know and be accepted by society. |
2:41.0 | And so you know that this is a fairly common experience for guys getting out and I would say that you know of all the guys that I keep in touch with most of them have similar stories and you know without a doubt to me it's fascinating. |
2:56.0 | And I think it's important for you as the listener you know to be able to kind of delve into you know both the psyche the mentality the experience that happens for you know for lack of better terms trained fucking killers once they get out of the military like what what these guys do and this is what a lot of guys do and it's it's really really important work and it's fucking exciting and interesting. |
3:19.0 | There's a lot of pretty pretty nutty stories to to go over you know that that happen you know post 9 11 so we're going to get into all this stuff but what what the other half of this podcast is is is Clark and I catching up you know which again you know the personalities that that I think you run into a lot of times in special operations obviously specifically as it relates to the seal teams is very very unique in terms of kind of a bullshit session. |
3:48.0 | That we would go through if we haven't seen each other in a while and kind of catching up so it'll be kind of a mix of those two things I think you guys are going to enjoy it and I'm happy and honored to bring it to you without further do we're going to get right into it and one of the things I do like to do is what I call the lightning round which is where I catch you with your pants down a little bit and ask you some stupid ask questions but just you know get your brain thinking and working and then also I just like fucking with people so. |
4:18.0 | The first question is a little bit serious just in terms of morning routine now I know you know with with our backgrounds a lot of times may not get asked all the time like do what do you do first thing in the morning I'm curious I like to ask you know all the guests like you know tell me about your morning routine like what do you do when you first get up. |
4:33.0 | Yeah typical morning for me it's it's pretty consistent I usually get up about seven o'clock my coffee is pre workout so I'll take some no explode and get the engine revved up and then recently I'm about eight months in the morning. |
4:48.0 | I'm playing guitar so I'll spend an hour in the morning first thing first thing I just love it I've always been interested in it and I picked it up recently and so part of my routine is no matter what happens in the work day afterwards at least get an hour in so little pre workout and about an hour on guitar and then start getting ready for work. |
5:09.0 | Do you find that the pre workout makes the shredding better I mean like as it's kicking in your fucking get after like are you just it does fucking some dime bag yeah so those are what absolutely I'm discovering some of the secrets of rock and roll I can't quite partake in but pre workouts close enough so yeah man it revs you up the I start to play some of the earlier metallic stuff. |
5:32.0 | Yeah. I have the heavy stuff. Yeah. Yeah. So obviously you know one of the things that Clark Clark does now which we'll get into but you know teaches tactics and shooting for a host of different military law enforcement and civilians. |
