Obviously, one place we do not have to worry about Michigan falling is on the bubble.

And I bring this up because there's been a lot of conversation over these last few days

on social media that it sounds like it's inevitable that there's going to be an expansion

of the NCAA men's basketball tournaments, the men's and the women's.

And the conversation is that the NCAA is in conversation with their TV partners about

this expansion and going to maybe 76 or whatever the number might be.

So on one side, I actually understand it.

Like I've been very anti-expansion and I'll get into that in a moment, but I actually

understand it because back in 2023, the transformation committee in the NCAA recommended that

all D1 championships that they host, that they support, that any sport that is sponsored

by at least 200 institutions, which obviously college basketball is, that 25% there should

be access to the postseason for 25% of the teams that are in it.

So there are 364 teams in Division 1 basketball.

It's been a while since they've had a real expansion of the playoff.

And when they did expand it a while back, they probably were at 25% of Division 1 basketball.

But a lot more schools and a lot more conferences I feel like have joined. There are 364 teams now playing Division 1 basketball, but a lot more schools and a lot more conferences I feel like have joined.

25% of that is actually 91 teams.

We're only at 68 right now, so we're not actually close to that 25%.

So going up to, say, 76 and adding, making all the automatic qualifiers,

a Q's they get into the field of 64.
