Coming off the by week, normally we're talking on a Monday, normally we're talking this time of the morning about Michigan football.

But since we're coming out to bye week,

we started off talking about the Detroit Lions,

about what I can say and what most people are saying is the best team in the national football league.

Ira, I say that without hesitation.

If there is hesitancy in my voice, it is out of utter disbelief that I can say it,

with the only hesitation being that it's it's i can't believe that we are here so sam

this is usually the yeah this is usually the final verdict but this is the uh the mid mid to starting

of late season verdict that the lions currently are the best team in football let me put it to you

this way.

Remember last year we had this conversation about Michigan and we talked about you get into November and you're like, all right, usually by now you can kind of tell who like

the dominant teams are.

But if it's yourself, can you recognize it?

And the answer that we learned is no, you can't because you pick up all your words and

you know everything about your team.

And you also know your own, your team's history.

Whatever that might be, the lion's history obviously is very large in this context.

So you have that in the back of your mind.

So I feel like it's very difficult for a fan of a team to look at your own team.

Unless you have like, you know, if you're the chiefs and you've won a bunch of super bowls it's one thing but when you don't have that history i think it's very hard to go wait

we are the best team and right now on november the 18th the lions are playing the best football
