Following, what was the, from our listenership's perspective, probably a pretty disastrous weekend when it came to sports.

So we'll start out. Shout up Michigan hockey team. Big weekend wins at Providence. All right, got that.

But Friday night, our radio coverage of big events started on the weekend with the Detroit Tigers.

And, of course, that game went into the wee hours of Saturday morning and the Tigers lost in extra, extra, extra innings.

And the season came to an end in disappointing fashion on late Friday night into early Saturday morning.

That was the beginning of this really, let's just call it a bummer of a stretch of games.

That's probably not a very, you know, that's not an articulate way to say it.

But it's just been a bummer of a weekend when it comes to sport.

So that was Friday night.

Saturday night, of course, the Michigan football team out at USC loses 31-13 to the Trojans to fall to four and two on the season, two and one in Big Ten play. And so that was the Saturday disappointing performance. And that's where we're going to spend most of our time on this show. But then, of course, there was last night as well Sunday Sunday night football. The lions were on the radio and on TV. And the lions went to Kansas City and they laid an egg. So disappointing loss on Friday for the Tigers. Disappointing loss on Saturday for Michigan. Disappointing loss last night for the Lions. And we've had weekends like that before. We've had opposite weekends.

I like the opposite ones better.

Opposite or better when you win some of these games or maybe all of these games.

We've had some great weekends of sports for Southeast Michigan, and this was not one of them, unfortunately.

But there were some things to take away from those games,

in particular to take away from the Michigan game.

As we discussed that throughout the course of the show this morning coming up in about 15 minutes from now, the monster moment of the game with Monster Tree Service of Ann Arbor. And the office player of the game, I mean, I know it's kind of hard to pull some out of these, but I'm going to go with Andrew Marshall. I'd like to discuss the young man again briefly here on the show. He had a really nice game. As I mentioned, he was targeted. They want to get him as many opportunities in the game as possible. We've talked to he's a playmaker, so you've got to get, you've got to get him touches. He had nine targets, eight catches, 138 yards. He had the 69-yard touchdown in there. He had 88 yards after contact. And so he's a guy that can, you can throw the ball to him down the field, but you can also make the short throws and let him go get it. He had one play where you bring him in motion and he runs behind the line of scrimmage to get a little separation from the guy trying to cover him, try to get lost in the backfield. he comes out on the other side of the, you throw him a little swing pass, and he can carry that for, you know, for a nice catch and run kind of a play.
