Before we get back to basketball, one, it's going to be one other note of local interest

from the professional ranks.

Yesterday down in spring training action, the Tigers lost and they fell to four and six,

but spring training records do not matter.

It's about specific results, accomplishments, progress.

And so the one from yesterday that was of significance.

The bats were fairly quiet yesterday, although it was not, you'd have Torkelson

in the lineup.

He went one for four.

Colt Keith went one for three.

Majors didn't go two for two.

Tray Sweeney after a good game, a couple games ago went 0 for three.

But the story of the game yesterday was Kenta Maeda.

Kenta Maeda went three and two thirds yesterday,

gave up one hit, gave up one walk,

had five strikeouts, and that was it.

No earn runs, no runs at all for that matter.

And he pitched three and two-thirds scoreless innings.

The Tigers didn't give up runs until the fifth inning.

It was after that, it was ends that came in from the bullpen.

He closed out the fourth inning, fine, and it was the fifth inning that he actually struggled.
