A lot of basketball here in the month of July.

You've got Team Canada playing South Korea and Team Canada led by Silas Swords and Mila Holloway are up 3828 at the half.

They're going to play the second half of that game starting in just a little bit here,

and I'll be following that along. Of course, we've got Summer League action, which we're going to get to in just a moment. WMBA is about to hit the All-Star break as well, and they've got their festivities this weekend, which would be pretty entertaining, although Kittlin Clark apparently got hurt again last night. I don't know. She left the game. We'll see what the status is. But she might go from being the star attraction of the entire weekend to not playing. She was supposed to be in the three-point contest, the very elite field for the three-point contest. And obviously, she's captain for the All-Star game as well. So I just saw that she had left the game last night. I was watching the All-Star game. I'll be honest, I didn't watch a lot of basketball. Well, take that back. I did not watch a lot of basketball after I got finished watching some Summer League action for the Pissons because I had a chance to, I got home yesterday. And I was actually about myself for a little bit. And the game was on. so I put on for a little bit. Unfortunately, it was the Pistons' worst performance of the Summer League so far. I've said this before, and I'll stand by this. The record doesn't necessarily matter. The key to the reason you really want to win more than any other reason is you want to play more games. Because the top four teams in Summer League action based on record and then whatever the tiebreakers are,

kind of like they're going to do with the players era torrent that we were talking about yesterday

for Michigan and men's basketball down in Vegas in November.

But the top four teams in summer league action based on record and then, of course, tiebreakers

will advance to the semi-final double header, which is at 3 o'clock on the 19th, which is coming up in three days,

obviously, on Saturday.

And then the semifinal winners are going to meet for the NBA summer showcase championship

coming up on Saturday at 9 p.m.

So you want to get there because you'd like to play a little bit more.

But what you're really trying to gain at a summer league is you're trying to see what you

got.

And sure, think about every team in the NBA has a summer league team.

And every NBA team has a roster of like 12 to 15 guys that are on their summer league roster.

But out of that, only like one or two guys are probably going to make, so you have one,

your rookie, that's your high draft pick, if you have one, if you had a second round

pick.

So maybe like two or three, maybe it's a previous round, a draft pick from a previous year,

but you're talking about maybe three at the most, like four guys probably from a summer league team are going to make a roster. It means you're talking about eight or so guys from every team that are going to be still looking for jobs. So most of these guys are not playing in the NBA. A lot of these guys are either in the G League or playing overseas, but they're all auditioning for somebody.
