So we're going to continue and conclude our coverage from Pro Day last Friday with the Michigan

football program. A bunch of guys worked out for scouts and executives and coaches, et cetera.

But a handful of them met with the media following those workouts.

You already heard from three former Michigan football players, Ernest Houseman, Kate McNamara, and Donovan McCall, each with their own unique stories. And now we have three more for you, starting with defensive tackle, Damon Payne, who met with the media following his workout on Pro Day last Friday. So here is Damon Payne for a few minutes. Now here on the Michigan Insider on the Big 1050 WTCA. It's a really important day, but you know you don't want to put too much pressure on yourself, do too much thinking, just go out there and do what you do. Obviously, got to perform at a high level, but just want to take it like a normal day. Obviously, the intensity of air, but that's what all the work is for in the last few months. It seemed like there was a lot of NFL representation there today. Oh, you're right. More than you count. I guess how does it feel to kind of have this? It's like a big thing. You build up to it you train for 10 weeks, three months, whatever it is, and like to finally get here, get it, knock it out. It's probably relieving.

Like, satisfying if you, I feel like if you did it well, like just kind of the emotions of getting to today and getting this, like, checked off. It was kind of, you know, a lot of anticipation, you know, a lot of nerves wrecking, but we've been playing the game since I was a little kid. Up to this moment. So this is a dream country, living a a dream getting to perform in front of some coaches scouts just dream country really is that one where you get out there

and like do a couple drills and then you're just like okay it's like I'm kind of lost

football you're just not worried about it anymore after the first one was like a little nervous

but after you do it it's, we're here now this cut.

Well, what's the journey been like for you? I mean, you know, obviously, you know, the big recruiting attention

that you got, you know, coming out of high school

and then, you know, going to Alabama, you know,

you know, here, I mean, like to finally reach this stage.

I mean, reflecting back on what it's been like, how would you describe it?

One of a kind of journey, a lot of ups and downs, but I learned a lot, learning how to bounce

back from setbacks.

Big lesson I learned was never quit, no matter how far you down, no matter how many times

you lose, just stick the course, keep grinding.
