We're going to spend most of our morning talking basketball, obviously here on the show as we get you ready for Michigan versus Purdue.

But something happened.

Well, there's a couple of pieces of news yesterday in college football that just cannot be overlooked, need to be discussed.

They are relevant here in Ann Arbor and things that make you go.

So the first one was news that Auburn has extended and given a raise to their defensive coordinator DJ Durkin.

Obviously, that's a very familiar name here.

Apparently, DJ Durkin was a very hot commodity.

And he was, Notre Dame has had an opening for D.C.

And they reached out to talk to DJ Durkin.

Ohio State reportedly reached out to express interest in DJ Durkin.

So he is staying at Auburn.

He got a raise.

He's now going to get paid about $2.5 million per season,

making him the second or third highest coordinator in football.

And that in itself is interesting.

But what that obviously meant is that Ohio State was still looking for a D.C.

And that led to the reports and the rumors from yesterday that rumors were circulating

that long-time NFL coach Matt Patricia could be Ohio State's next defensive coordinator.

So you've got places like the silver bulletin.

They're like, would be a fascinating hire if it comes to fruition.
