You heard from J.B. Bickerstaff and Karris Levert and Paul Reed. And you heard really a theme between all three of them. And even in just a couple of minutes with Paul Reed and just, I watched it, two minutes with Paul Reed and three minutes with Karris Levert. There was a theme between the three of the guys. and if you watch the game last night,

these four things.

If they can clean, these four things,

if they can clean up these four things,

the rest will work itself out,

and they should be fine in game five and moving forward.

But it's not the easiest thing,

because these things have been issues in other games in this series

or have been issues in other games in the playoffs so far this season, so far through a round and a half, give or take. But turnovers. Obviously, that's a big part of it. They had 18 turnovers last night. They just limit how many shots you can take. If you have too many turnovers, you don't take enough shots in the game. It's simple, you know, I get into math a lot, but sometimes it's a simple math equation.

If you turn the ball over too much, for that matter, if you don't get enough rebounds,

although rebounding was fine for the most part last night, not in the stretch of the game

where they got, where they had their doors blowing off and they weren't able to overcome.

But got to limit the turnovers.

The careless, senseless turnovers just kind of giving the ball away,

especially when those turnovers lead to live ball situations the other end.

It's bad enough if you throw the ball out of bounds, but at least it's a dead ball turnover and you're not leading to a break the other direction. We talked a lot about this with Michigan last season and then the early part of the season that just happened. But in the first year plus of Dusty May, we talked a lot about turnovers and limiting turnovers in the difference in the game and what happens. And saw that last. If you limit your turnovers, the pistons can limit their turnovers, they're going to go a long way to helping them out. And that's actually going to help out the next point, which is they've got to be better on the defensive end. In particular last night, in the third quarter, in the second half, maybe just did not lock you in on the defense event. I don't know if it was something that Cleveland did that was a little bit different.

If it was something that just Detroit lost their focus.

Maybe it was the fourth thing that the three guys all talked about that had in common,

which is the urgency in the game, playing with a certain sense of urgency.

And you heard J.B. talking about and I think it was one of the other two, I meant one of the players, maybe it was both of them, but they talked about not having that urgency in the Orlando series when they got to the middle of that series and then maybe they're in that situation again. So got to find that urgency again. This is, you know, I know it's their first time getting to the second round as a collective, but you've got to find a way to play with that urgency from the beginning through the end of a game, from the beginning of a series to the end of a series. You've got to find that urgency. But turnovers need to be better. Defense needs to be better. Their urgency needs to be better. And then... Hey, I'm Chris Van Fleet.
