Night has fallen on the Mojave Desert and it's a real hot night.

Something big goes by and you feel the wind on the back of your neck and then you see the owl

swooping low and you can almost see it settling on a branch of a Joshua tree about a hundred yards to your left.

Some nights you might see some helicopters from the Marine base flying low with all their lights off.
