Every once in a while, I'll see something that maybe it makes me laugh to the point that I just have to share it.

Now, the premise of what I'm about to bring up is not funny, but what where my thought process took me is where it got funny.

So on Monday, I saw this yesterday, but on Monday, the Biggie's conference announced a new

partnership with officially human, which is an organization that is dedicated to improving

the treatment and retention of sports officials at all levels.

Now, on the surface, this is actually a great thing because there's a lack of youth officials.

There's a harassment of youth officials that has gotten to a point that is pretty insane in a lot of situations.

You know, the stereotypical hockey parent, you can make those kind of jokes.

But in youth basketball, the berating of officials in football, we've seen it in soccer,

just about every sport.

There are examples of videos of verbally and physically accosting officials.

Sometimes those officials are like 14 years old, right?

It doesn't matter how old they are, but sometimes they're kids and they're

being accosted verbally and physically by adults. But it's been, so it's a very serious topic.

So I don't want to dismiss that this part, that that's very true, that we need to find a way

to treat officials better when it comes to youth sports because there are there's a lack of those officials.

But all I could think about was the Big East Conference was talking about a partnership with

called officially human, basically that officials are humans too, right?

That's the whole premise of this.

And because it gets me thinking about the era of the big East conference.

It gets me thinking about John Thompson, who I worked with, of course, in D.C.
