But just briefly on the Tigers, the day started with optimism yesterday.

Tigers activated infielder Zach McKinstree yesterday off the 10-day injured list.

They sent Zach Short back to Toledo.

He was designated for assignment.

Terrick Scuba was scheduled to have his surgery today.

But the day got off to what felt like an optimistic start yesterday.

And then Framber Valdez got shalacked last night.

Just absolutely shalact to the point where he then put, get what,

into the fourth inning, back-to-back home runs, plunked a dude, and then you had a bench clear. There was no brawl, but there was a bench-clearing situation going on yesterday. Framber Valdez was terrible. Let's just say what it was. He was really bad in the game last night. He went three-plus innings. Did not retire a batter in the fourth inning. He gave up a couple of runs in the fourth inning. But over the course of his three plus innings, he gave up 10 runs, seven of them earned. So there were some issues with his defense behind him as well. But nine hits, a walk. Three of the nine hits were strikeout were home runs. He had as many strikeouts as he did home runs given up. That's, yeah, that's not good. And then obviously from there, that didn't really matter at that point in time. But the bullpen did their job, Hanofi Smith, DeHasus came in and pitched six shutout innings of work. They shut things down. But Framber Valdez was not good. And we talked about this yesterday on the show. Really, it started a couple days ago. We were talking on Monday where needed scuba to come and help save that bullpen a little bit because of what they had done on, we talked about this Monday, what they had done on Sunday. And the bullpen was really good on Sunday for the most part. They got the win. And then, of course, Scoob will get, we find out about his injury.

They scratch him from the start, et cetera, et cetera. And then the bullpen threw six innings on Monday night. It was good. But then it fell apart. And then it kind of turned into a disaster. Well, yesterday it wasn't about the bullpen. Well, it became about the bullpen in the context that you needed six innings from your bullpen.

Frambert Valdez needed to give the Tigers six innings of work, seven innings of work.

Instead, he gave him three plus disastrous innings of work.

I mean, at least give him five or six. He couldn't even retire and out in the third and the fourth inning. He did start the fourth inning, but he gave up two back, he gave up two more runs in the fourth after already giving up eight runs. And they were back to back home runs. And he didn't like that. And he plunked the next dude. He plunk Trevor's story and Framberg got ejected. Both benches cleared. Nothing really happened, but he plunked the dude. And there's some conversation about Boston trying to lean in and steal signs and him plunking the dude. He gave a back-to-back home runs. He was frustrated.

He got tossed. And then they moved forward. And the Tigers ended up scoring a couple of runs or a few runs, but early it didn't matter at that point. They had scored a couple of runs in the first inning where it was a three-two game. But then it was, of course, 10 to 2 by the time you got to the fifth inning. and then it was 10-3 for the final few wins of the game,

and it was over.
