The Michigan football offensive breakdown with Sam Webb and Al Borges, but right now a

couple of Michigan football offensive players from last night's media availability, starting

on the offensive line with offensive tackle Evan Link who met with the media yesterday,

now here on the Michigan Insider on the Big 1050 WTK. You said this offseason that last year maybe swimming a little bit in the head, given the difference between practice and going on, how does it feel so far this year? A lot different. It's a lot more confidence. I think personally, I'm in the whole unit as a whole. I think I have more confidence in our abilities as well, too So I'd say it's night and day, really. I think last game was a great step in that direction where we had some different guys in there and there was still the same level we wanted to be and played really well and put up six to three points. So that's something we can be proud of and I think the unit is proud of that. When breaks kind of breaks contained that starts running on a non-designed run play, what is alignment's responsibility there? I mean, in my head, I'm mostly sometimes just let me get out the way and let him be special because I don't want to get me if they got something up for him. But at the end of day, it's also, there's that one play that I think of where he kind of broke him Tain and ran around for that touchdown.

I kind of, I was blocking my dude turnaround.

I went, oh, let me make this easy for him, trying to make him to capture this guy.

So it's for me, it's maybe try to finish that block I'm on. Maybe that'll set him up for something else. Maybe that can help him make him move on somebody else. but, I mean, for me, it's most of the time just either finish my block or let him be special and see what I can do for him.

How much do you think Sharon spending more time with you guys last week

to help fuel your guys' performance against Central?

I think there definitely was a difference just because you have that,

the eyes of the head coach are a little different from just your position coach or your coordinator sometimes,

and that's nothing to say that you don't want to perform in front of those guys as well. Because you obviously do, right? But when you have the head coach looking in on you too, right? It's an added level of, all right, let me be extra detail, let me be extra focus, and we have extra effort here because that guy's there, right? That guy's the head man of the program, right? And that's the coach.. So you want to do the best you can for the head coach. So I think that kind of fueled us in practice where maybe we had a few things that because he was there, we kind of stepped up. And I think that translated the game well. Evan, why do you think you felt the need to spend more time for those last week?

I think it was really just, I think, because, I mean, obviously Oklahoma didn't go the way we wanted to,

and the running game kind of in that game was a little inconsistent at times.

And I think that was partially on us, and there's several reasons for it, right?

But part of it was us just need to be more physical.

And I think Coach Moore has always been great with the physicality aspect of football, right?

He has done some of them a lot.

And so I think him being there was just him trying to kind of extra emphasize that physicality part.

And I think that was kind of what was lacking in Oklahoma at times.
