So the Michigan men's basketball team with their 77-67 win last night at the Chrysler Center over the Minnesota Golden Gophers have clinched at least a share of the Big Ten regular season championship.

That is the second banner that Dusty May has won in his, obviously just his second year with the Wolverines.

And this is always a great start when you're in the banner raising season.

There's an opportunity every year if you're a Big Ten men's basketball team.

Or for that matter, if you're a Big Ten women's basketball team, you have an opportunity to raise as many as four banners in a year. The first banner is the regular season championship. And then you work onto the postseason. So you have this one. And then of course, once you've got this banner, then you move on to the next one. And that banner can be earned for the women in Indianapolis next weekend for the men the following weekend in Chicago.

And then, of course, once you get past that, you get into the NCAA tournament where you can earn two more banners.

You can't earn the big one at the end without earning the final four one first,

but you can earn two more.

So how many more banners are in Michigan's future men and or women?

The women, of course, they have different criteria for raising banners as the program is still trying to decorate the rafters a little bit.

We are going to have Caitlin Flaherty, Yates's jersey, going up on Sunday, or excuse me, on Saturday at the Chrysler Center, which is going to be great.

But a lot of opportunities to raise banners for the men still to come.

They still have three more opportunities.

They got the first one.

Now, they don't want to share, as you've heard Dusty say, as you heard LJ say, and you'll continue to hear them say, I'm sure.

They don't want to share.

They want it outright.

They want it their own.

So they are a win away. And they would, of course, like more than just a win between now and the end of the regular season. But they're a win away from clinching the Outright Big Ten Championship. And hopefully they get that on Friday night at Illinois. That will be a very tough task. After the game, we heard from LJ. Case. You already heard from him.
