John woke up to a sudden and shocking realization. He couldn't believe it. He laid in bed and thought

about it. He was lost in the middle of his own story, lost in the

middle of his own life. John had always had a dream. He had arrived at his dream earlier than most

people. John loved buildings. He loved reading about buildings. He loved thinking about buildings. He

loved seeing buildings.

And he dreamed that someday he would be an architect. He loved going with his family to those trips in the big city to see the big skyscrapers and always thought that maybe someday, somehow, some way, he'd be a builder of one of those buildings. John went off to university

to study architecture, did very well, got lots of praise and approval from his professors,

got a good job at a local architect firm. He wasn't very excited about working there. He thought

that was a place he'd probably have to start. He'd work his way up.

He'd pay his dues. But year upon year went by. And John began to feel stuck, began to feel trapped,

spent his architectural career building strip malls and gas stations.

He couldn't believe what was happening to him.

More and more, he had trouble getting himself up in the morning.

More and more, he had trouble going to work.

John was lost, and he didn't know why.
