We've spoken to him several times in the past, but that was with regard to his earlier book, The Fixes In, all about perhaps the shenanigans that take place in all the major league sports, the Big Four and NASCAR.

But we're going to do something different today.

And I'm just going to guess, Brian, that when you wrote The Fixes in, let's say you kind of put your, you raise your nose into the air and smelled something fishy and then you went into it, you researched it and found what you did.

With this book, the latest one, disaster government, did you raise your nose to the wind and smell something fishy in your own life and just looking at this and assessing it?

How did that start?

Well, in a sense, yeah.

What I did was I've always been kind of interested in conspiracy theories,

you know, be like the JFK assassination or 9-11 and those sorts of things.

And one of the things that always fascinated me was the notion of continuity government

and the idea that the federal government has built these like underground relocation bases

around the country, and if, you know, the stuff hits the fan, to put it kindly,

they're going to go run and hide.

And that always interests me.

And it was kind of one of those things I wondered, how true is this?

Because when you hear conspiracy theories, sometimes you hear things that are so outlandish.

You're like, come on, that can't be true.

And then you hear things that seem, well, that probably is true.

So I wanted to see how true it all was, and the more I dug into it, what surprised me is the outlandish in this case wasn't really that outlandish. It was true. And what I tried to do with the book is base it all on actual government files. So it's all authentic. You can't say you're making this up because I'm not making this up.
