It is now time to discuss the defender of the game brought to you by the law offices of

0:10.6

Joseph A. Simon. Find Joe at the Michigan Defenders.com. That's the Michigan Defenders.com.

And we actually talked about on the pregame show, if you remember, I'd ask Sam,

0:20.7

it was kind of a true or false question, trick-or-treat.

0:22.6

It was Halloween weekend about Michigan having playmakers at all three levels of the defense.

0:28.4

And we were talking in the context about Derek Moore, Jimmy Rolder and Jair Hill, who have all been making plays for the Michigan defense.

0:36.5

In this game, now, Jai Yir Hill had, you know, he made some plays in this game, and they played without Jimmy Rolder. Derek Moore, hmm, let's talk about one guy on each level. So Derek Moore up front, he ends up to finish the game with a couple of sacks, three tackles, two sacks, a force fumble in there on that strip sacks. So those two early sacks that he had, he ended their first possession. He ended their second possession. And he was a force on the edge throughout the course of the game. Derek Moore, he's now, I believe, the leader in the Big Ten and Sacks, which is what Steve Clark predicted would happen. He said that we would wake up yesterday. And he would be the Big Ten sack leader. And I believe that is the case. So you do have a playmaker on that front level, on that first level for the Michigan defense,

in their front four.

1:17.6

Derek Moore is now playing like we expected Derek Moore to play all season long.

1:22.1

It took about half or plus, give or take about half the season for them to really round into form.

1:26.5

But it feels like he's really rounding into form.

1:29.0

And Derek Moore had himself a heck of a ballgame on Saturday night against Purdue.

1:32.4

In the middle of that defense, no Jimmy Rolder, no Cole Sullivan.

1:39.2

And then in the very first series in like the first, what, two or three plays,

1:43.5

Jashon Barham goes down with injury. And all of a sudden, the Michigan defense is now without their top, they have a houseman, but you don't have Rolder, you don't have Sullivan, and you don't have Barham, which means you have one of your top four linebackers. Now, Troy Bowles came, played, and he played a side. We knew he'd be getting a lot of snaps in the game, and he played pretty solidly in that game for, for Michigan on Saturday night.

2:06.6

But you were expected to see J. Sean Barham play a bunch of snaps.

2:10.3

Instead, you have Hausman play 63 snaps.

2:14.1

You had Troy Bowles play 43 snaps.

2:17.2

You had Nathaniel Obusu, Boutwang, have 25 snaps.

2:23.5

I missed a guy.

2:25.0

Somebody else had more, had some snaps in there as well.
