So as I said, yesterday was a really newsy day.

And part of that really newsy day yesterday was that the WMBA was going to announce their final wave of expansion.

Talk for the last year or so, obviously, the popularity of the WMBA exploding since, in particular, the arrival of Kate and Clark.

She is not the reason why the WMBA is loaded with talent, but she is the top reason why we have, she is the top reason why the numbers have exploded the way that they are.

They're about to have a new collective bargaining agreement,

and there's going to be a lot of change in the league.

And one of those changes started this year and is going to be phased in over these next few years,

which is the creation of more roster availability, roster spots.

There have been, since 1999, there have been 12 teams in the WMBA,

and those 12 teams combined each had 12 spots.

Now, based on salary and other reasons, not every WMBA team carried 12 players.

Some carried 11.

So you didn't even have the guaranteed 144 spots.

And the spots were very, very, very competitive.

We talked about that. The year that Nas got drafted.

We had a really deep conversation about this and how hard it is to make a spot.

But once you get in the league, if you've earned your spot and you maintain that spot,

it's really hard to knock you out of that spot because there's so much entrenchment in the league.

And because, you know, teams like to really keep their

players together if possible.
