Thank you Lord!

Sometimes I feel possessed. By the past, by love, by ideas, by lineage. How much control

do we really have over our lives? So many choices are made for us. We are haunted by the

things around us, by objects, space and time, by what is in our blood and where it all came

from. We can't grow younger, we have little control, but we can enjoy this. We can submit

it, we can find power and all that we've lost, and grow into it.

This is Euphamette, I'm Jim Perry. On this edition, a family story, a love story, VHS

Okay, so my dad bought this house in the 70s. We're in Eagle Rock, California. This is weird.

Okay, okay, okay. Okay, so my dad bought this house in the 70s. He met my mom here in Eagle Rock

and the living here ever since. Yeah, I know, it's really cute. Actually, it's a little too cute.

Right down with someone who would sit on the porch and give away grapefruit from my grapefruit

tree just so he could like, talk to everyone in the neighborhood, and one day I remember

he got mad because this lady came and took all his grapefruit and then he didn't have an excuse

to like, talk to people. So, he liked talking to people, he liked writing down the stories of

everything that happened in his life. He documented things meticulously, meticulously.

Like, books, he's read, music, events that have happened, things that have happened in the neighborhood

on the street, interactions with neighbors. Yeah, no, it's almost to a ridiculous amount.

And I didn't appreciate it until he passed away.

So, my dad passed away about three, four weeks ago. So, very, very recently.

So, we've just been on to go through his things, barely. Like, we've just started.
