We are going to go inside the locker room for a few minutes. We heard from Marri Burnett inside the locker room. A little bit of a noisy locker room, but a few minutes with Namari Burnett, he's back in his hometown. He's back where Michigan just competed a couple weeks ago

in the Big Ten men's basketball tournament

where they lost in the, of course, in the final to Purdue.

Also, he's going against his former team, although I'm guessing there's not a lot of teammates left from when he was there. But regardless, we have a few minutes from the locker room with the Mari Burnett. Then we're going to get to the podium. So here is the Mari Burnett from yesterday in Chicago. Yeah, you mentioned like this. What's that like to face them off here and the biggest games here?

Yeah, I mean, it means everything just to, you know, be in my hometown and, you know, play my previous team, but also just having a chance to advance to the elite eight and so on in March Madness.

It's things that you dream about as a kid growing up, and I'm just grateful to be on the stage.

How focuses this team right now?

Oh, yeah, so focused.

We're so locked in on what's at hand right now and understanding that this is a big part of a lot. These are memories that we'll look back on and be like, man, we're so grateful to play for the team, being around the coaching staff. Everything that comes with March Madden, the publicity, just playing the game that we love at a high level. Like I said, it's just something that we dreamed about when we're younger. How special is going to be here in Chicago and to be able to play? I'm expecting a lot of friends and family going to be here tomorrow. Yeah, I mean, I was trying to get even more tickets. You know, I had a lot of family trying to come out, but I'm just super excited to play in Chicago and the United Centers. I mean, I remember watching Derek Rose play here all the time.

I'm just being a big fan of his, but, you know, having my family and friends

come and watch me play at this stage.

It means everything.

I'm super excited, and I'm even more excited to rep Michigan when we go out there tomorrow.

Have you ever played in the Big Ten tournament? How have you played when you've been back home previously? I mean, I felt like I played good. I mean, I've always enjoyed just March Madness in general and coming back home to play here. And, I mean, you know, you have fans and friends and family, but you also have people that, you know, you haven't seen in a while. You're like, Mar, I'm looking forward to seeing you playing things like that. And, you know, a lot of them either watch on TV or you see them in the United Center. You're like, oh, I didn't see you in a long time. So it's really good to see familiar faces, and it's even better just to play in a hotel. This is where your season under last year in the Sweet 16.

What's that feeling like you're back at this position and to look to go further than last year?
