Welcome back to the Michigan Insider here on the Big 1050 WTKA online at the big 1050.com. And once again, it's time for our weekly check-in with Michigan women's soccer coach, Jen Klein. Coach, welcome back to the show. How are you? Yeah, I'm doing good. Yeah, it's coming off of a nice, relatively good home stretch and getting ready for our last road weekend in the regular season of Big Ten. Yeah, it's remarkable. You said that because I was looking at obviously the results from last week. And your was it 0-1 and 2 in your last three games going back to the tie at Iowa? And then we'll get into the game against Michigan State here in Ann Arbor and then the tie against Indiana on Sunday as well. But yeah, I was looking ahead.

I'm like, you have a road trip this weekend to the East Coast to Maryland and New Jersey. And then I mentioned this now because we want the fans to have it on their calendar. Sunday, October 26th, Illinois comes to town for a 1 p.m. kickoff at UM Soccer Stadium. And that's your home finale. it's amazing how quickly, we say this every year, but we get into the beginning of the

season and the grind of getting ready, and then you blink, and you're at the end of the season.

Yeah, it's wild.

It's just, it's going so fast, and just can't believe it.

We're at the final stretch of regular season.

So let's talk about these two games that you just played most recently.

Late last week, you played Michigan State, top 20 team in the rankings, and ended up coming

up just short, and that one won nothing.

Amazingly enough, another one goal game, because I think every single game you guys have

played since like the second week of the season is or maybe

even the first week of the season has been a one goal game or a tie game every single one of

them and here's just another one unfortunately you're on the wrong end take us through the

one nothing lost to michigan state yeah i think we just had a moment right at the start of the game

where we just kind of uh weren't really on the front foot.

They were able to capitalize on a little bit of a, I think, kind of us got a little ball-oriented and got lost on the back post.

But then from there, I thought our team responded really well, you know, kind of took it to them.

I thought our overall performance in the game was really, really high level.

I think we forced them to have to do things differently that they hadn't done all year.

And so definitely was disappointed on not being able to find an opportunity to capitalize.

But I think that's the unfortunate thing about soccer.

That's the cruelty of our sport.
