And it's time for our weekly check-in with Michigan Women's Soccer coach, Jen Klein Coach. Welcome back to the show. How are you? Yeah, I'm doing well. Thanks for having me. Great to have you back here on the show. The week that was in Michigan women's soccer were a couple of narrow defeats at the hands of the two schools from L.A. It was a 2-1 loss to USC and a 1-0 loss to UCLA,

and they're right number four in the country.

So obviously, really tough competition, but it got me thinking about one-run baseball games, one-run hockey games, one-goal hockey games, one-goal soccer games, these games that are already low-scoring and how frustrating it can be when you're a coach, when you have all these great opportunities, how do you avoid getting that too frustrated to stay in it?

Because it can kind of, I'm sure, wear on you a little bit because you're right there so

close so often.

Yeah, I mean, I think two unbelievable opponents.

I mean, very storied women soccer programs in both USC and UCLA, and definitely disappointed

about the results on the weekend.

But I think what you always got to do is look for the wins within the game.

And defensively, I feel like our team had two unbelievable performances.

We definitely were a team that went out and disrupt the way that they wanted to play.

And we made the game extremely difficult and challenging.

And so I think from that standpoint, definitely built confidence in our ability to defend against anybody. And now the, I think the last

piece is just how can we get generating some more opportunity in possession, put away our

chances, be better clinical finishers. And I think, you know, that's going to be kind of what

we focused on going into this next weekend. But I think the team is in a good spot. How do you maintain what you're doing on the defensive end and increase in the offense event? Because sometimes you want to add a little more, you know, give a little more, you know, more players to go up front, do something to add to the offense. How do you make sure that you don't give up the back end to help the front end?

Yeah, I think that's a really good point, and that's the part that we have to be really, I think, careful of is, you know, yeah, now we're trying to chase this, you know, attacking and going to get goals, but, you know, being a team that, you know, doesn't give up a lot and defends really well,

gives us more chances on the attacking side. So definitely a tricky balance and, you know,

definitely what we're going to work on on the training pitch this week, so that way we can figure out, you know, what's the magic recipe so you can create those goal scoring opportunities, but not give away anything to the opponent.

So we want to put that behind us, but I have one more question coming off of the weekend.
