So every Wednesday we get our final check-in with the Michigan football team leading up to a Michigan football game.

And, of course, this Saturday night is Michigan versus Purdue at 710 at Michigan Stadium.

3 p.m. is your start time with the chap on site fueling countdown to kickoff here on the Big 1050 WTKA.

And the final check-in with Michigan football. We hear from a couple of assistant coaches. We heard from Grant Newsom, the offensive line coach, of course. We heard from Lamar Morgan, defensive backs coach. Right now let's start with Lamar with Grant Newsom. So here is Michigan offensive line coach Grant Newsom meeting with the media yesterday. Now here on the Michigan insider on the Big 1050 WTKA. He's just talking about how Blake played and the attitude he's bringing to that one. Sure. I'm really proud of him and how he's coming and stepped up. And sometimes it's with all three of those guys, you know, you forget the redshirt freshmen sometimes, which is a good thing. It's a good thing.

But sometimes as coach, you have to remind yourself,

hey, you know, oh, shoot, he hasn't seen that before.

He hasn't played four years of football where, you know,

he's seen that look before or knows how to adjust to that on the fly. But I'm proud of him and how he went in and wasn't perfect, obviously,

but he's out there and he's fighting, and he's getting better every week.

In the back to Alejandro?

Grant. Sharon mentioned you a couple times as being instrumental in the run game against Michigan State.

Is that you working with Chip? Is that something that's a new development or what's your role in that?

It's the same as it always. It is, right? Just a team.

You know, we all have input and Chip's the one who has to put it all together and package it together and then obviously call the plays. So he does an incredible job of that. And he's also great about, hey, you know, asking him for a suggestion or, hey, what are you like here and what are you seeing from how the line's blocking it. So no, it's just a complete team

effort from all of us in the offensive staff. In the front left, Anthony, obviously it took

injuries to get there, but now that you have three redshirt freshmen in the starting line.

I mean, how exciting is that for you to get these reps in November football and then what it

means for the future? Sure. Obviously,

everyone have injuries and probably wouldn't have gone in the season thinking this would be our

fifth or whatever it is, you know, starting combination in eight games. It's obviously not what you
