The 21 and 1 record is the best start to a season in the history of Michigan men's basketball. After the game, we heard from the head coach. Here is the headman himself. We heard from Dusty May. So now we're going to bring that to you from last night. Now here on the Michigan insider, Dusty May on the Big 1050 WTCA. I thought we played with a great deal of maturity.

We had 17 out of our 19 baskets and second half were assisted and 31 out of 40 on the game.

I think that's a testament to a group that respects and values each other and are putting the team on the same plane as themselves. Our young guys played good basketball. They had an opportunity to play extended minutes, and they did a really nice job.

So I'll start questions in one second. I went to the Pistons game the other day, and they had

a big lead, and they went to their bench. They're third string guys, their two ways.

And I'm sitting there watching thinking, wow, when your 13th man comes in and it looks a lot like

your top three guys, your top four guys, the way they play, the way they compete, every

possession matters.

I thought that's a testament to a real

healthy culture and guys that love playing ball and I thought we looked like that tonight. So

a proud moment to see our young guys out there competing and playing a good brand of ball.

I know I can I just talk about this to come in a little bit where you've seen him improve what he got here?

Yeah, Oscar's a good player.

You know, it's the trade-off of being on a really talented deep team that you don't get the minutes

that you would in a normal year or in another program.

But he continues to improve.

His consistency in practice has probably made the biggest jump from last year.

He would have a couple good days that he'd have a down day.

And sometimes we'd forget that he was 17.
