Our guest for this week's episode of Behind Enemy Lines is Adam Jaxa, the voice of the Chippewas. As someone who follows this program, it's one that has been through a coaching change. Coach Matt Drinkle comes in. He's the former Army offensive line coach. What are the sort of things that Coach Drinkle wants to instill in the Central

Michigan program throughout his tenure in Mount Pleasant?

Yeah, the biggest thing is he wants physicality.

And coming from Army, they want to be able to establish the line of scrimmage and run the

ball.

So we've seen them run it a lot over 50 times, I think, in that first game,

over 40 times in the second game. And they're hoping that they can establish the run again

against Michigan on Saturday. So that toughness he wants, he wants that blue collar fit because

he's a Midwest guy. So he had never been to Mount Pleasant before

he got hired back in December. And he said the first thing when I got up there, I just felt like

I was home back in the Midwest, Mount Pleasant, that blue collar spot. And he said, we want to

embody that type of style out on the football field.

So blue collar, toughness, run the football, and an ability to just be grateful for their situations.

I think he's done a really good job of making sure the student athletes are understanding of the history.

He's a big history guy of Central Michigan and the two legendary coaches and Roy Kramer

and Herb Derominy are on the back of the helmets for Central Michigan.

They've got great facilities up there and they've won a bunch of championships within

the Mid-American Conference, won a D-2 National Championship before they went D-1.

So like just making sure the guys are appreciative of the opportunities they get and
