Summary

We are huge fans of watching videos on morning routines for all types of individuals from all different fields. There is something about getting to peek into their lives and seeing how they do it. You might call it creepy or even a little more stalkerish, but we call it research for building the ideal morning experience and ensuring that you start the day with a positive mindset.  We went through countless videos of morning routines and even analyzed our own routines and we were able to identify five major components to ensure that you start your day off right. We are going to chat through each component and give some examples.  As always, remember, you need to do what works for you, but if we are standing in front of you saying that this works find a way to fit in and give it a shot (a good shot, not a half one) to making it work.  Let’s dive in! OH! Keep in mind that these may not necessarily go in the exact order as well.  [ 4:50] #1: Time to get grounded [ 10:10] #2. Time to review your schedule [ 13:27] #3. Time to Review Your Power List [ 19:33] #4. Time to Review Your Materials [ 27:07] #5. Time to Get Motivated Routines are important, they hold us together doing the craziest of times and they ensure that we are always performing our best work, but keep in mind that it is called a routine because we do this on a regular basis. Only then can we expect the routine to work for our lifestyle.  Click HERE to download the FREE Steps for Creating a Successful Morning Routine! SUBSCRIBE & REVIEW Are you subscribed to our podcast? Well, hello there, top teachers. We are your host, Michelle Farray and Bridget Spackman. And we are here to make your life easier by helping you master your time, organization, and productivity as a teacher. So let's not waste any more of their time. We're going to jump right in, Bridget. What has been that one thing that has been keeping you from being productive, that one thing that is really just

0:21.5

taking all of your time from you. We like to call it a time-sucking hurdle or a TSA.

0:28.3

Girl, my TSA for this week absolutely hands down has to be student behaviors. Oh, tell me more.

0:35.0

I teach sixth grade, so I'm a combo classroom. And for any of my

0:39.5

six grade teachers out there, you totally understand that hormones are at an all time high right now.

0:45.7

And so I've been dealing with parent emails, phone calls, referrals. There are so many different

0:52.3

things, but I'm not able to teach. I can't get any teaching done

0:55.8

because I'm dealing with behaviors on the side. So hands down, it has to be the student behaviors

1:00.4

this week. I totally feel you on that. It definitely gets in the way of your productivity. You

1:04.6

aren't able to get things done. And then you become more and more frustrated, the longer it goes

1:09.2

on. And that means you have less patience.

1:11.4

And then the littlest things are gained under your skin. It's definitely hard. Yeah. It's like

1:14.8

something. It's just like a never ending spiral. Like I'm falling down. I feel like what is

1:19.4

her name? Alison Wonderland as she's like falling down that hole. Like that's literally what I feel like.

1:24.2

So today we are going to be discussing five things that every teacher needs to be

1:30.0

doing for their morning routine. And I'm so excited for this podcast because one of my favorite

1:36.0

videos to watch on YouTube or even podcast to listen to revolve around morning routines. I love

1:41.9

just to look at what other people are doing. Is it because we're

1:44.7

like super nosy? I think it might be, but I'm okay with that. I'm totally fine with that.

1:49.6

I don't know about you, but I love people watching. Sometimes I will go to the mall. You can't

1:54.1

tell anyone this, but. Well, I mean, you're doing it on the podcast. It's okay. I will go to the mall. I will sit in the food court. I'll get myself like a smoothie or a milkshake or something. And I will just sit there and watch people because people are so interesting. So you're basically one of those people that when you go to a restaurant, you have to sit with your back to the wall, right, so that you can see everything that's going down. I never thought about that, but I think I will from now on. Yeah, you're totally going to be thinking about that every single time. But I think what's really

2:20.8

cool about it is that everyone approaches things differently, right? We all have a way to do whatever it is
