Summary

Your first step to healing is coming clean about your problem with pornography and masturbation. What can you do this week to come clean? Take a risk and tell someone what's going on with you. Be concrete about what you are sharing. You don't have to be graphic but you should mention pornography and masturbation. Share the frequency and don't minimize or try to hide. Who could you tell? Your goal is be honest with yourself and others. Even if they don't have the best response. This is practice for you in learning to be honest on a ongoing basis.

0:11.5	Today we're talking about coming clean about porn addiction.
0:15.6	I'll share a story for my life and some practical actions you can take this week.
0:22.5	Now, since this is the first episode,
0:28.5	I want to tell you a little bit about my story. I first saw porn when I was seven years old at a gas station. I was there with my grandmother. I walked into the store, opened the door,
0:36.5	went to the magazines, and just saw a magazine that I didn't
0:39.7	recognize. It was a little higher up. I grabbed it. I opened it. And the first page I opened to,
0:45.9	I saw an adult woman completely naked on a bed. And it was like completely shocking.
0:56.4	I'd never seen anything like it.
1:00.8	And even though I had never seen anything like it,
1:02.9	it immediately hooked me.
1:05.5	There was just something about it.
1:07.8	It just kind of sucked me in.
1:14.3	Now I immediately closed the magazine for fear that someone would see me or that my grandmother would come in. And I guess I had some shame. And I didn't tell anybody.
1:28.5	I just kind of like put it in my head that there's magazines like this.
1:36.4	And I wanted to see more.
1:39.8	I did tell one friend about a year later and he had had a similar experience, he was seven or eight,
1:45.8	and we both kind of shared that we had seen this stuff, and we didn't really talk about it.
1:53.0	And that was kind of it.
1:55.3	Now, I know other boys experienced and saw pornography at a young age, and I'm sure as they grew up, they definitely
