to bring you guys this project as it's something I've been working on for the past couple

months.

I'm also very honored that you took the time out of your day to sit down and listen to this.

I wanted to start with this episode just to give you guys a little bit of a heads up as to what to expect from this podcast,

as well as to talk about my background and why I wanted to start this podcast.

So I grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana, I'm the middle five kids.

I attended Vanderbilt University on a football scholarship and actually this is one of the most powerful stories

in my life is my background on how I ended up at Vanderbilt.

I was not a highly recruited athlete out of high school.

I had offers to go to some D3 schools, not on scholarship, then offer them and I had opportunity to go to Princeton.

I turned Princeton down and so I thought I was going to go to Wheaton College, which is where my older brother

and my best friend JD went.

If any of you guys have seen wedding videos, JD is the brother who did the best man's speech.

I was going to go up to Chicago and play football with him.

When I got a phone call very, very late in the recruiting process from the coach at Vanderbilt.

I had been to a Vanderbilt summer camp.

I had met the coaches briefly, but things kind of fell through and it didn't seem like Vandy was going to be a place that I was going to go to school.

But I got a call from them and this was four months before the school and the season started.

They offered me a scholarship and I was just baffled.
