The Long days and pleasant nights.

0:29.1

Hello and welcome to King Slingers, a Doof Media podcast, experiencing, exploring, and analyzing Stephen King's Dark Tower series.

0:37.3

My name is Scott Daly, and I am a constant

0:39.7

reader and King officiantado. And I'm Matt Freeman, and I've only read two Stephen King books

0:45.6

in my life. Which ones, Matt? Carrie and needful things. That's two very unique sets of

0:53.3

books there, Matt. I doubt anyone in this entire world has read

0:56.5

those two and only those two books. Well, it's the kind of unique perspective that you get here on

1:01.4

Doof Media. That is right. For the next year or so, Matt and I will be diving into the work of Kings

1:07.5

the Dark Tower, me for the third or fourth time. And Matt, as he said, for the very

1:40.3

amount of time, you know that that is a table turned moment for us. I'm used to being

1:47.3

the one of making predictions. I get to lead Matt through this thing. We've never done that before.

1:51.7

It's very exciting. Just a general note for those of you that have read the books before, we will be

1:56.0

going in publishing order, which means win through the keyhole, the eighth book in the series, but

2:01.5

chronologically different, will be covered last. So I had to make a decision there. It technically

2:05.9

slots in the middle of two of the other books, but we're going to cover it last. We're going to

2:09.1

go through the story. It was written and published and then talk about that book at the very end.

2:13.6

Whatever all that means. So we're shooting for anywhere between 20,000 and 40,000 words covered per week,
