Let me start by asking you this question.

How did you become a Darwin skeptic? I mean especially studying at Berkeley.

How did you come to doubt the standard story we often hear about evolution?

Well I was actually at Berkeley twice. I was there as an undergraduate in the

late 60s and when I graduated with my bachelor's degree in 1970 I was both a Darwinist and a leftist.

But the increasingly violent behavior of my leftist colleagues

repeled me, and I literally headed for the hills.

Eventually I built a small cabin in the woods of Northern California.

And surrounded by the beauty of nature, I realized this could not have all happened by accident as Darwinian evolution would have us believe.
