When I came out of school, worked in public accounting and started managing money in the mid-90s,

the average internal expense ratio of mutual funds was around 1.5%.

That sounds high.

That sounds expensive now, doesn't it?

Yeah, you have to remember that if you stack on what the advisors make, the internal expense ratio and the trading fees.

I mean, investing used to be so much more expensive.

We have gotten technology innovation and the straight up price war is making investing so much better for the average consumer.
