Good evening from Levyv Ukraine.

There are significant developments to tell you about tonight on and off the battlefield

here in Ukraine as well as elsewhere.

Most notably the Biden administration banning Russian oil and gas imports into the United

States, cutting Moscow off from billions of dollars a year in hard currency, squeezing

Russia's economy even harder.

We begin though with Vladimir Putin's principal export to this country, which is human suffering,

the Exodus that has followed.

Today, according to the UN, the number of people who have been forced to flee Ukraine exceeded

2 million just over the past 12 days.

That of course is only part of the story.

Others who have been driven from their homes are now in transit within the country internally

displaced.

Many more, many come here to Levyv, either to stay or as a jumping off point on the way

further west.

I spent part of the day at the train station here, which has already seen tens of thousands

of displaced people arriving and departing, I'm in a family, Sergei Katya, and their three

year old daughter Zlada.

They fled the bombing and shelling and harkiv.

Sergei's wife and daughter are now leaving Ukraine.

He is staying.

It's important to hear their story because at the end of the day, this more than almost anything
