What's up, everyone? Welcome to the Colin and Samir Show. On today's episode, we're going to be

0:03.5

unboxing and ranking unique creator merch from some of the top creators here on YouTube.

0:07.8

All right, here we go. Roll the intro. Welcome to the Colin and Samir show.

0:16.2

All right, so we have a bunch of merch on the table right now. Now, merch is one of those things

0:20.3

that creators do when they scale their business.

0:23.5

Like typically in traditional YouTube, whenever a creator launched merch, that was like the driver.

0:29.9

And the business model was make videos sell T-shirts in the early days, right?

0:34.9

Everyone sold T-shirts. A lot of people sold T-shirts. That's why companies like Fanjoy existed. That's where T-Spring got involved with YouTube. And a huge part of that

0:44.1

value prop was, hey, I'm a part of this community. So I'm going to wear a shirt that I can

0:49.9

identify with. And if I see someone else on the street wearing that shirt, it means they're also

0:54.0

is primed to sell a t-shirt or a hat or a hoodie. But there are other types of products you could sell

1:03.7

that are better suited for the audience that you have and what you talk about. And we're seeing really

1:09.4

unique products come out. And these

1:12.0

products, I think, have no longer been considered, in my opinion, merch. These are brands. And that's the

1:18.4

phase of the creator ecosystem and economy that we're in, which is creators being able to launch

1:23.2

brands. And when you launch a brand, you have to scale a team to be able to do that. There's also

1:27.8

third parties that can help you do that. So we're going to talk through all this different merch,

1:31.2

but at the same time as we're talking about scaling, we're also scaling right now. So we put out a job

1:37.4

description, probably our, I mean, I think our first job description that we put out, we're hiring a writer. So we are... It almost felt funny. Like,

1:44.4

first piece of company news today, we are hiring. And to even put out that post and say,

1:48.9

we are hiring felt strange. It felt like imposter syndrome. Like after all this time of just you and me,
