Welcome back my friends. It's time for us to get our minds align with the truth of

God by looking into the scriptures, pondering what it has to say, aligning our thoughts and our lives with what is

teaches. That's the point of reading and studying scripture and that's what we

are about right now as we dig into the

scriptures. Let's look at John Chapter 15. Jesus is in the process of

explaining to his disciples how they are oriented in relationship to the world around them.

You see he has called them from their normal way of living. Some of them were fishermen, some of them were tax collectors,

some of them were political zealots.

They were just everyday guys who Jesus called

to be a part of his new movement that was bringing the

grace and the love of God into the world. And he's saying in this new role

you are going to come up against various challenges.

And because I am about to go to the cross to bring all of my plan to its consummation,

you need to be ready for what's about to take place.

And so he's been explaining all of this to them and helping them get their minds right.

And here in verse number 19 of John chapter 15. He just said in verse 18 if the world

hates you know that it has hated me before it hated you.

And now he says,

If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own.

But because you were not of the world, but I chose you out of the world.

Therefore the world hates you.

So Jesus is trying to explain to his disciples, first of all, that they are going to receive pushback
